CSL began as a StarCraft: Brood War intercollegiate tournament with 25 schools participating. Within 2 years, over 140 schools were registered to play as StarCraft II launched in 2010. CSL has since added games like League of Legends, Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite, Smash Bros, and more to the tournament circuit. Today, CSL is home to over 70,000 competing students across 1,800 universities in North America!
CSL has taken its Grand Finals across North America - working with major esports events such as MLG and Dreamhack, to hosting our own standalone events in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Toronto, and more. CSL also strives to work with collegiate esports clubs to help grow their communities on campus, and co-hosts dozens of on-campus events each school year. Join CSL today and help write the history of collegiate esports.
