It’s finally upon us! Planes are being boarded, cars are being packed to the brim with players and their suitcases, and the stage is being set up for another awesome finals event in the Azubu Collegiate Champions. This time, players and fans alike are flocking to Los Angeles to see what’s been hyped up to be one of the greatest collegiate e-sports event in history. With $40, 000 on the line for the first place winner, you know these players will be in top form!

However, these teams will have to get through the semi-finals to even have a shot at that phenomenal first place prize. Throughout the past few weeks, we’ve been covering the semi-finalists quite extensively, allowing us to get a bit more of a personal glance at the players themselves. However, we have yet to delve into these matches and make our predictions. Tonight, we will cover the first of these semi-final matches between The University of Berkley and Aarhus University.

Both of these teams are ridiculously strong and will definitely be putting all they’ve got into this pivotal match. While Aarhus has been training in their make-shift team house in Denmark, Berkley has literally been “taking names.”

However, neither of these teams have each other’s replays to study, nor do they know who they’re playing ahead of time. Therefore, it’s going to be an extremely interesting series. One thing to note is that while Berkley’s lineup may be extremely strong, their top player’s star power may be just his undoing. Aarhus will have access to tons of replays and VOD’s of EG’s Suppy and plenty of time to study up on his style of play. Therefore, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to see him fall in their match. It’s all up to how important and pivotal Aarhus feels beating him is.

Overall, I’d give the edge to Aarhus in this matchup mainly due to the intense amount of training they’ve put in after they won the European Division. However, you can’t exactly count Berkley out of the running just yet. Either way, be sure to tune in on Saturday at 10:00AM PST on azubu.tv to see what happens!
