Hello U of A sc2 players!
My name is Ansel Andrews and I am lined up to be the new coordinator for the University of Arizona CSL team in Season 5! I am really excited for this year's competition and I hope to make our team the best it can possibly be!
Some basic information new or returning players should know about the team before registering:
Firstly, this year the U of A CSL team will be run through the brand new University of Arizona ESPORTS club that I am in the process of getting recognized! The U of A ESPORTS club will be the prime place for any U of A students, friends, or alumni to get together and share our love of competitive gaming. Although, the official title is the ESPORTS club, the main focus of the club will currently be Starcraft 2, although I hope that in the future the club will involve other competitive gaming titles. My intent for this club is to create a strong and thriving ESPORTS community on campus where students and alumni can play, watch, and talk about competitive gaming together!
What this means for the CSL team: Because, as I said, the CSL team will be run through the ESPORTS club, the intent will be for the team to become in effect sponsored by the University of Arizona itself and become the first true University of Arizona ESPORTS Team! However, admittance to the team will NOT be required of anyone who wants to join the ESPORTS club, and visa versa (although it is strongly encouraged that you are active in the club if you want to be on the CSL team). Additionally, while the ESPORTS club will be open to everyone who wants to join regardless of skill level, I intend for the CSL team to be for those students who truly want to be competitive in Starcraft 2. Therefore, while anyone is able to join the team this year, there will be a Competitive Roster of players that will actually compete in CSL Season 5 and effectively make up the true University of Arizona CSL team. Players on the Competative Roster will be required to attend or show proof of mandatory practice as well as attendance to team meetings, events, and possibly coaching sessions. If you join the team this year, you will NOT be required to attend or show proof of mandatory practice sessions, or attend team meetings etc., but if you want to be part of the Competitive Roster you will be required to practice! This year I will not turn down anyone who wants to sign up for the CSL team through the CSL website, but in the future I would like for any interested people to tryout for the team through the ESPORTS club before we display our final roster on the CSL website. I intend for the U of A CSL team to be the true competitive arm of the University of Arizona ESPORTS club, and, in the future, I would like for this team to evolve beyond just the CSL and possibly obtain sponsorships and funding to attend other local or nearby tournaments. My dream is to see a really strong college team flourish here on campus, and I know there are some very talented people that would benefit from having a structured team and practice environment to take their game to the next level!
So to recap:
1) The University of Arizona CSL team will be run through the new University of Arizona ESPORTS club
2) For CSL Season 5, joining the ESPORTS club will not be required to be admitted on to the CSL team (although it is highly encouraged), and visa versa, although in the future students or alumni will be required to join the ESPORTS club to tryout for the team.
3) Anyone will be able to join the CSL team for this season regardless of skill level, however that does not guarantee admittance on to the competitive team roster which will consist of the players who compete in the actual CSL matches.
4) Admittance on to the competitive roster will require those players to attend or show proof of regular practice sessions, as well as attend team meetings or events.
5) ESPORTS is awesome!
I will post more information about the ESPORTS club and the CSL team soon, in addition to the time and place of the first club/team meetings, however if you have any questions or want to get into contact with me about joining either the club or the team, or if you would like to help be a part in organizing either the club or the team you can always email me at asa3@email.arizona.edu or call me at (520)250-0562.
I hope that we can become a strong face in the upcoming CSL season, as well as foster a strong and thriving ESPORTS community here on campus!

Hey add me i go to university of arizona Infbroaches. 343
Hey, add me Kite.316 I'm from the UA too and I'm also looking for schoolmates to play and improve with.
I was wondering what it takes to get on this team? I don't have a very astounding profile for season 3 with leagues and all but I was just hoping to have fun playing with some fellow school mates this fall.
