We were disqualified for using unverified accounts, however the other team's coordinator was in our games observing, and made no mention of telling me to switch accounts. I was on my ClashDrone account, he asked if I was tQdrone. I said yes, tQDanTe (my opponent and friend) verified it was me, and their coordinator gave us the go-ahead to play. I was never told to switch accounts.

The exact same thing happened with NrGDime (RevDime), no mention was made to switch accounts. This was only brought up after the fact when we won the ace match.

I find this to be highly suspect and would like to see the reasoning behind this? If we were given the go-ahead to play, and the other team had no problem with this, why were we disqualified under the reasoning that we "refused to change accounts"? Nobody refused anything, had they asked I would have switched.

Edit: The thing that bugs me the most is that I was playing their player on that account out of goodwill. Their player could not make the scheduled time, so when they requested that I play him at midnight (my time) the night before, they messaged me on my ClashDrone account asking if I could play at that time. They didn't leave a message on our message board asking me to play, they sent me a PM in game WHILE I WAS ON THE "UNVERIVIED" ACCOUNT asking if I could play immediately.

I forgot to submit the match link, here it is: http://www.cstarleague.com/league/matches/2276

Edit: Here's a screenshot from our shoutbox on this site with their coordinator saying it was OK: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v144/cdallyn/screenshot.jpg

While I understand that rules are necessary to create an atmosphere of fair play, it is the application of the rule that provides justification for it's legitimacy. Because CSL administrators do not directly moderate matches, in this case a rule was enforced retroactively after the fact. If both parties failed to provide a justified causality of fault (IE: following rules) at the time of the incident, why then is only one party punished?

If you desire the participants of your league to follow a particular structure of play, a type of honor system punishable outside of context indicates an error on the part of all parties concerned.

And that why I'm butthurt =D

I'll be looking into this. I have to ask, why do you guys play on non-verified accounts in the first place for CSL matches? You know it's against the rules.

Like I said, we'll be looking into this and getting back to you in a bit

I was on my ClashDrone account (my main account) when they messaged me and asked me to play. I said ok, Dante invited me to the game and we played. We figured it was fine since Dante and I have known each other since BW and were RealID friends. Nobody asked me to switch accounts so I didn't. Dime was playing in the FFC Charity tournament and played his CSL match between rounds. Again, nobody asked him to change accounts.

I have since updated my account information on this site to reflect my new account, as has Dime.

Replays of both sets in question were made available to each team.
Thanks for taking the time to revise this!

How is this remotely fair? Dante won set 1, and now Calgary is getting another shot to take him out? Also, if this were the case, we would have done something different for our Ace match. If you want to force people to go back and regame (especially when the team committing the offense LOST and gets a REGAME for doing something ILLEGAL), then we should regame the entire match.

EDIT: Nobody from or representative of the Hawaii team requested a forfeit in any way, shape, or form. Your illegal actions were NOT brought to the attention of the CSL by anyone from or representative of the Hawaii team behind closed curtains or in a manner that would try to sway the outcome of a the match in any way, shape, or form.

Your coordinator explained to the admin what happened when we were unable to upload replays, and it was from there the admin begun to take action which led to this conclusion.

Drone, I asked you numerous times to switch to your verified account and in response you called me a "joker" and an "noob", among other insults. Seeing as you were being rude and disrespectful, I asked tq Dante to confirm your LOSS through your verified account. We understand your "goodwill" and are extremely grateful for it, but I don't understand how that is relevant at all, since we never asked or tried to get a free win which you are trying to do by reversing your loss to tqdante.

Okay, I'm going to resolve this case:

1) No changes to the match will occur. The result will stand as 3-2 for Calgary, etc.

2) We won't make decisions retroactively. Why? The MOST important aspect of the CSL, and any league - should be playing the games. Rules are put in place to make everyone's life easier, but by no means should rules take precedent over a legitimate game being played (if a cheat or game exploit is used, this is an exception). Therefore it would be unfair to invalidate the result of a played game, even though the rules technically would suggest this is ok.

3) Everyone who used unverified accounts - this is a warning: do not do so again. In order to make sure this issue doesn't happen again, use the correct account.

I played a CSL game this season, and I was using a different account (NASLDuran)... my opponent made me switch to my correct username, XerisLighT, just out of precaution. Even if it takes an additional 30 seconds to click "log out," and re-type your password and log into the correct account, it's worth it. Just follow the rules and no problems will happen!

Thanks again for your understanding, and I apologize for any confusion in rulings that were made. This is the final decision of the CSL on this matter, and it is not open to debate any longer.

We agree that the games should be played out and the results be reflective of that, and prefer the original result (3-2 for Calgary). We'd just like to ask that the next time somebody asks you to play on the verified account, you don't ridicule them.

You said to confirm that I was tQdrone and I asked 'nando who "this joker" was. He and I have known each other for close to 10 years, that is how we refer to others we are not familiar with. He knew who I was, that's why he messaged me on my (now verified) account. There was no ridicule, I was asking him who the random person was that was obsing our game. That said, beyond asking me to confirm my identity, you never asked me to swap accounts.

I'm glad this has been resolved and both Dime and I have changed our info to reflect our new accounts.

I did specifically ask you to switch your account, but the point is moot now. Good luck for the remainder of the season.
